No counselling unit in Delta... Say: Mense

The founder of Shola Mense foundation, a humanitarian, Shola Mense has
said that there is no single Counselling home in the whole of Delta as
the State intend to win the crusade against drugs consumption and crime.
Shola disclosed this recently in his Warri office while addressing the
issue of high rate of drug intake and high rate of crime in the state,
calling on good Nigerians, cooperate bodies and the state government to
partner with relevant security agencies in the fight against drugs abuse
and high rate og crime.
Mense noted that his foundation, (Shola Mense Foundation) is working
hard to sensitize and educate the youths about the danger and impact of
drugs consumption. Explaining that his foundation is working on opening a
club in Hussey College where students will undergo inter-schools debate
on the danger and impact of drugsimpact.
The founder of Shola Mense Foundation how ever task government to tackle
crime from the root, saying that if Nigeria government wants to tackle
crime, they should start from the root, which is establishing a
counselling unit in every Divisional Police station and as well as give
proper funding to NDLA to enable them fight against drug abuse and
combat crime.
The humanitarian stressed that the only Rehabilitation Home in the State
located at Ugbolokosu is not working as the building was not
commission, hence the place has been abandoned, he therefore tasked
government to put the building into use or give it to the Shola Mense
Foundation so that the building could be put into full use with skills
acquisition center to train these youths on diffetent skills, according
to him, only training these youths and educating them on the danger of
drugs is the key to reducing the rate of crime.
